THE BEGINNING...

The beginning of Nu Omega Psi Sorority was the beginning of a journey that would test the faith, dedication, and friendship of two young individuals. These two women, Honorable Founders Angela Taylor and Sharon Smith, would strive to create an independent organization that would promote sisterhood, service, and the attainment of complete womanhood. After performing a tremendous amount of research, the founders decided to take the lead in forming a fellowship and organization for women demonstrating humility and uniqueness in the midst of college, career, and family life.

On Sunday September 9, 2007 in Fairmont, North Carolina...
Nu Omega Psi Sorority was officially born. Its founding members are shining examples of our motto:
"It is never too late."

Within the next four years, Nu Omega Psi Sorority, Inc. would encounter many obstacles, yet reach many major milestones. In September of 2010, the members of Nu Omega Psi Sorority witnessed the first establishment of chapters outside of North Carolina. Another milestone included the signing of a strategic alliance with Nu Phi Psi Fraternity, Inc.

On Saturday October 23, 2010...
Nu Phi Psi Fraternity and Nu Omega Psi Sorority were officially recognized as "brother-sister" entities by the Executive Offices of each respective organization.

Nu Omega Psi Sorority, Inc. continues to accomplish many things as a black-founded, independent,  service and social Greek-lettered organization. We strive to always promote the importance of service, education, and sisterhood through our journey as a sorority for many years to come.
